INSPIRE welcomes Juan Pablo!

Join us in celebrating more Team News, and welcoming Juan Pablo!

Leading the JustRE Alliance at INSPIRE

We are delighted to announce that Juan Pablo Cárdenas has joined the INSPIRE team as the Coordinator of JustRE, the Global South Alliance for a Just Transition to Renewable Energy, a new international alliance of organisations working towards implementing renewable energy in a socially responsible way, with meaningful participation and benefits for communities.

JustRE is a strategic platform for multiple stakeholders to exchange, learn and work together. In June, JustRE partners collaborated in writing a book together, which will be published soon.

Juan Pablo’s role is to coordinate the engagements and activities of the Alliance.

Originally from Colombia, Juan Pablo brings a background in Environmental Engineering and a Master’s degree in Energy and Development Studies from the University of Cape Town. His passion for energy and sustainable development is matched by his eagerness to contribute to multicultural and multidisciplinary teams, making him a perfect fit for the dynamic environment at INSPIRE.

Juan Pablo has a broad background in consulting, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and renewable energy models focused on users. He contributed significantly to the creation of Colombia’s first peer-to-peer energy exchange and grid-connected energy community. His work, which bridges the gap between energy innovation and local development, has been published in academic journals such as Energy Research and Social Science, Energies, and IEEE Smart Cities.

We are thrilled to welcome Juan Pablo!  Connect and Congratulate him on LinkedIn here:
