Alison Malindi is a communicator, storyteller, and changemaker driven by a deep belief in the power of people and purpose to create lasting impact. Her work sits at the intersection of communication, social development, and inclusive transformation — using storytelling as a bridge between communities, systems, and solutions.
A graduate of the University of Cape Town, Alison holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management and a Bachelor of Social Science in Organisational Psychology and Social Development. Her professional journey includes experience at BP Southern Africa (British Petroleum), where she gained firsthand insight into the energy sector and the opportunities it holds for driving inclusive and sustainable growth.
Building on this foundation, Alison applies her understanding of the energy landscape to champion communication strategies that put people at the forefront of the just transition, ensuring that communities not only participate in, but also benefit from, the social and economic opportunities of renewable energy development.
Over the years, Alison has led and contributed to initiatives that empower women, promote inclusion, and strengthen community resilience — from raising funds for women’s shelters and supporting youth empowerment programs to leading accessibility initiatives for the Deaf community, her work reflects a consistent commitment to dignity, equity, and opportunity.
Recognised among Africa’s 100 Brightest Young Minds, as a One Young World Ambassador, and an active member of the Global Shapers Cape Town Community, Alison has collaborated with young leaders across the continent who share her passion for shaping a more equitable Africa. These experiences have reinforced her belief that real change begins with collaboration and community-driven solutions.
Alison joins INSPIRE to contribute to a movement that is advancing a just and inclusive energy transition across Africa, “I look forward to contributing to INSPIRE’s mission by amplifying impact stories, engaging communities, and driving advocacy that ensures no one is left behind — where women, children, and communities are active participants and beneficiaries in Africa’s energy transformation.”
