Project Update: Community of Practice – Innovating in Education Investment across IPPs
What are the successful ingredients for collaboration in REIPPPP? We aim to get closer to answering that question!
Establishing a collaborative space and platform for REIPPPP social performance practitioners & community shareholding trustees to facilitate learning, sharing, best practice exchange and problem-solving.
In March to May 2024 we met with several IPPs and some community trusts to discuss and invite input into the concept of a Community of Practice and what it would make it valuable for the industry.
Our team was then faced with the difficult challenges of selecting a focus area for the CoP, and selecting the specific participants to join us for the pilot. Given the numerous opportunities and challenges uncovered within the renewable energy sector, the decision was made to focus on strategic education investments as the CoP theme. And after a careful consideration and rigorous selection process, we decided to pilot the CoP with the existing Inland 5 partnership, in their region of Cookhouse, Somerset East and Bedford.
Moving into the next phase, we extended an invitation to the Inland 5 IPPs, which they have all accepted, including one Community Trust.
Exploring and addressing the specific challenges and opportunities related to co-learning, co-planning and co-funding amongst IPPs and Community Trusts in the development area of strategic education investments, to uncover innovative solutions that drive meaningful change.
The Inland 5 CoP will be at the forefront of our efforts to explore and address the specific challenges and opportunities related to strategic education investments. Through this CoP, we aim to deeply explore their unique contexts and work together to uncover innovative solutions that can drive meaningful improvements in education outcomes. We are confident that this collaboration will lead to valuable insights and breakthroughs.
As we continue the pilot with the Inland 5, we are excited to share our progress and learnings. Follow us on LinkedIn and read more in our Blog.
For the REIPPP social performance practitioners in IPPs and Community trusts that are not part of the Inland 5 Community of Practice, we are equally committed to broadening the reach of our knowledge-sharing initiatives. And it is in this spirit of inclusivity and continuous learning that we also launched a new webinar series open to the entire REIPPPP sector
