In our mission to build leadership for a people-centred just transition, we host annual Learning Events across South Africa.

Since its inception, INSPIRE has hosted four Learning Events (2020, 2023, 2024 and 2025), convening more than 250 stakeholders in gatherings across Cape Town and Johannesburg. These events have brought together a wide range of stakeholders from across the REIPPPP ecosystem, such as independent power producers (IPPs), government, community trusts, NGOs, academia, financiers and industry associations. These Learning Events are designed to create impactful platforms for collaboration, knowledge exchange and advancing social performance in the renewable energy sector.

Collectively, the events have focused on strengthening leadership, deepening community impact and fostering a more inclusive and just energy transition. Core themes have included community ownership, social performance, leadership in complex contexts, collaboration and long-term sustainable development, all contributing to improved practices and partnerships within REIPPPP.
