Our story
Synergy Global Consulting nurtured INSPIRE into existence with founding support from Actis, Lekela and BTE Renewables. The South African Wind Energy Industry Association (SAWEA) and the South African Photo Voltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA) are implementation partners of INSPIRE.
INSPIRE is a registered non-profit company (NPC) in South Africa with non-profit organisation (NPO) and public benefit organisation (PBO) status, an independent board and secretariat.

INSPIRE’s Theory of Change outlines a clear pathway for transforming renewable energy social performance, ensuring that it delivers sustainable, equitable socio-economic benefits for host communities. Grounded in practitioner-led research, collaboration, and evidence-based action, INSPIRE focuses on building the skills, systems, and understanding necessary to achieve a credible and sustained Just Energy Transition in South Africa and beyond.
