    Director Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) – Lekela Power

    Jennifer Boca is currently the ESG Director for Lekela Power, a pan-African renewable energy platform developing utility scale wind and solar projects. She is also a member of the Lekela Executive Committee. Jennifer joined Lekela in 2015 and has over 15 years’ experience in environmental and social performance management, ESG risk management and running of social impact programs with a particular focus on large scale infrastructure projects and the development financing sector in Africa. Jennifer has worked in several countries in Africa, Europe and Asia.

    Jennifer is fluent in English and Swahili and graduated with an Executive MBA at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. She also holds a master’s degree in Environmental Impact Assessment and Management from Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK and a first degree in Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University in Kenya.

  • Libby Hirshon

    Sustainability/ESG Director – BTE Renewables

    Libby is the Sustainability Director for BTE Renewables. In this capacity, she is responsible for the company’s Sustainability Strategy, Policy and Performance. She is also directly responsible for the Social Performance related to all South Africa projects. She has over 20 years of experience as a social and environmental specialist and as an advisor to the financial and renewable energy industry. Prior to joining Okavango, Libby worked as an independent consultant and with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), conducting ESG due diligences as part of their transactions, as well as ongoing supervision and advisory work with their clients.

    This included assessments and advice on their Environmental and Social Management Systems, and assisting in their development and implementation. For the first 12 years of her career, Libby worked at Environmental Resources Management (ERM) as a social specialist and principal consultant, working across industries in over 16 countries in South, West, East and Central Africa.

  • Letsiwe Thulisile Dlamini

    SED Principal, Project GAIA, Anglo-American

    Thuli Dlamini, currently a member of Group SED at Anglo-American, is dedicated to the development of the SED Plan for Project GAIA. With eight years of experience as the SED Manager at the IPP Office, she played a vital role in monitoring the implementation of Socio-Economic Development (SED) and Enterprise Development (EnD) obligations of IPPs in the REIPPP Programme.

    Thuli holds a Master’s degree in Global Management and Development from the University of Antwerp, as well as an MPhil in Energy Development Studies from the University of Cape Town. To further enhance her expertise, she has pursued additional qualifications in Environmental Management from the University of Pretoria in recent years.

  • Dr Holle Linnea Wlokas

    Independent Consultant

    Holle Wlokas is a trained social scientist with over 12 years of experience focusing on social performance in the renewable energy sector. Her expertise lies in socio-economic development, stakeholder engagement, and multi-stakeholder projects and processes.

    Holle’s work revolves around the social and economic aspects of energy transitions. She is particularly passionate about fostering strong relationships between businesses, government entities, and citizens during the phase-out of fossil fuel operations and the implementation of large-scale renewable energy projects.

    Holle currently holds two significant roles. Firstly, she serves as the driving force behind INSPIRE, taking on the role of a thought leader for the organisation. In this capacity, she leads the work of the organisation, spearheading innovative ideas and initiatives related to social development and performance in renewable energy. And secondly, she undertakes consulting projects for both local and international clients in the fields of renewable energy, energy transition, and infrastructure.
